“When I Start The Day”

The weekend is upon us and what better way to start it by watching this short video from Go Public: A Day In The Life of PUSD. Entitled “When I Start The Day“. It’s easy to point out all that’s wrong with education, but this clip highlights a teacher with genuine care and insight into his experience as an educator.

  1. This particular teacher shows he cares in lots of ways. This weekend he is performing with the students in the schools’ musical review. He is the faculty advisor for a club on campus. He drops off forgotten items at students homes. He listens with genuine concern to distraught parents. He is an excellent educator who cares deeply about kids. As do most of the teachers on his campus. I venture to say most schools have a majority of teachers who go above and beyond every single day in their commitment to educate and care for their students.
