What’s In A Ranking?

College rankings are controversial at best.  The well-known lists such as US News & World Report and Princeton Review offer good basic information, but their methodologies have come into question by experts in the field of education.  While we do recommend students and families use these resources, we also suggest the following alternative rankings that seem to employ a more holistic methodology.

  1. Colleges That Change Lives
  2. Washington Monthly
  3. Forbes

Other interesting lists and surveys:

  1. The Best Colleges for Students Slow At Making Friends
  2. The Hottest Colleges In The Nation: Inside College List
  3. The Daily Beast College Rankings 2011
